The Redmi 12C is an affordable phone that moves up a class in performance. The MediaTek Helio G85 with a Mali-G52 GPU is a capable budget gaming chip, noticeably quicker than the Helio G25 and G35 used in the Redmi 9A, 9C and 10A. Social apps open faster, and casual games like Free Fire run smoothly.
The 6.71-inch HD+ display is large, ideal for videos and reading, though it runs at 60Hz. The back has a striped texture that improves grip and hides fingerprints, and the fingerprint scanner sits on the rear.
The rear camera uses a 50MP main sensor with a small depth helper, giving detailed photos in good light. The 5MP front camera is basic, suitable for video calls. The 5000mAh battery easily lasts a full day. The main drawback is charging: it uses micro-USB with 10W charging, so a full charge takes a few hours.
RAM options go up to 6GB, and storage up to 128GB with a dedicated microSD slot, so you can keep plenty of photos and videos. A headphone jack and FM radio are included.
This is a Non PTA, imported box pack. A local SIM works only for the allowed period unless the phone is registered with PTA and the tax is paid; Wi-Fi and every other feature work normally. Learn how to register a phone with PTA (How to Register Your Mobile with PTA (DIRBS Guide)), compare the Xiaomi Redmi series (Redmi phones), or browse mobiles under 25,000 (Under 25k).
