iPhone 13 vs iPhone 14
Short answer: the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 are very close, so the iPhone 13 is usually the better value. The iPhone 14 adds 6GB RAM (vs 4GB), a 5-core GPU version of the A15 Bionic, a slightly better main camera, an autofocus selfie camera and Crash Detection. If the price gap is small, take the iPhone 14 for its extra RAM; if the gap is big, the iPhone 13 gives you almost the same phone.

Design and build
From the front and back, these two look almost the same: 6.1 inch screen with a notch, aluminium frame, Ceramic Shield front glass, glass back and IP68 rating. The iPhone 13 weighs about 173 g and the iPhone 14 about 172 g. Both still use the Lightning port, not USB-C.
The camera bump on the iPhone 14 is a little larger, so cases are not always interchangeable.
Colours differ too. The iPhone 13 came in Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Pink, Green and (PRODUCT)RED, while the iPhone 14 came in Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, Yellow and (PRODUCT)RED. Since the bodies are so similar, colour is often the easiest way to spot which model you are holding.
Display
Both use a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED with 2532 x 1170 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and up to 1200 nits peak (HDR). There is no Dynamic Island and no Always-On display on either. In real life you will not see a difference between the two screens.
Performance and chipset
Both use the A15 Bionic, but the iPhone 14 gets the 5-core GPU version (from the iPhone 13 Pro) while the iPhone 13 has a 4-core GPU. The iPhone 14 also has 6GB RAM against 4GB on the iPhone 13.
In daily use both are smooth. The extra RAM on the iPhone 14 helps apps stay open in the background and should help as iOS gets heavier over the years.
Cameras
Both have a 12MP main and 12MP ultra-wide camera. The iPhone 14 main camera has a larger sensor with an f/1.5 aperture (vs f/1.6 on the iPhone 13), plus the Photonic Engine, so low-light photos are a bit cleaner. It also adds Action mode for steady video while walking or running.
The front camera on the iPhone 14 has autofocus, which gives sharper selfies and video calls. The iPhone 13 front camera is fixed focus. Cinematic mode is available on both.
Battery and charging
Battery life is similar. Apple rates the iPhone 13 at up to 19 hours of video playback and the iPhone 14 at up to 20 hours. Both support 20W wired fast charging (adapter not included) and 15W MagSafe.

Non PTA and SIM notes in Pakistan
A Non PTA iPhone is not registered with PTA's DIRBS, so a local SIM works only for a limited time unless you register the phone and pay the PTA tax. Wi-Fi and every other feature work normally. Learn how to check PTA status (How to Check PTA Status of Any Mobile Phone).
The SIM setup matters here: US iPhone 14 models are eSIM only, while the US iPhone 13 still has a nano-SIM tray plus eSIM. Most non-US models of both have a nano-SIM plus eSIM. Every order comes with a 7-day checking warranty.
Who should buy which
Buy the iPhone 13 if you want the lowest-cost reliable iPhone with a great OLED screen and dual cameras.
Buy the iPhone 14 if the price gap is small, you take many selfies or video calls, or you want the extra RAM for longer use. If you want USB-C and Dynamic Island, look at the iPhone 15 instead (iPhone 15).
Before you order, decide how long you will keep the phone. For 2 to 3 years either model is fine. For longer, the iPhone 14's extra RAM and later launch give it a small edge.
