5G in Pakistan: what to expect

Pakistan's 5G rollout is still in its early stage, and coverage depends on your network and city. For most people today, a 5G phone is about being ready for the next few years rather than getting faster speeds right now. Your phone will keep working on 4G everywhere 5G is not available.

Bands differ between countries, so a 5G phone made for one region may not support every band used here. Each model page lists the network details of the variant we sell. As with any Non PTA phone, PTA registration (How to Register Your Mobile with PTA (DIRBS Guide)) is needed for long-term SIM use, on 4G or 5G.

Budget 5G phones

Cheap 5G phones now use efficient chips that also save battery. Good examples are the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G (Samsung Galaxy A15 5G) with Dimensity 6100+, the Redmi 13 5G (Redmi 13 5G) with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the Realme C65 5G (Realme C65 5G) and the Infinix Note 30 5G (Infinix Note 30 5G). They are great for social media, streaming and casual games.

If 5G is a must on a tight budget, check mobiles under 25000 (Under 25k) and mobiles under 30000 (Under 30k). These pages include the 5G options in each range.

Mid-range 5G sweet spot

The best 5G value sits in the middle of the market. The Galaxy A35 (Samsung Galaxy A35 5G) and Galaxy A55 (Samsung Galaxy A55 5G) give you long software support and AMOLED screens. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G (Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G) has a 200MP camera and Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 (OnePlus Nord CE 4) adds very fast charging, and the Pixel 8a (Google Pixel 8a) has one of the best cameras at its level. The Galaxy A55 vs A35 comparison (Samsung Galaxy A55 vs Galaxy A35) helps if you are deciding between Samsungs.

Flagship 5G phones

All current flagships are 5G, from the iPhone 16 (iPhone 16) and iPhone 17 Pro Max (iPhone 17 Pro Max) to the Galaxy S25 Ultra (Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra) and Pixel 9 Pro (Google Pixel 9 Pro). Our guide on the best 5G phones in Pakistan (Best 5G Phones in Pakistan) picks the top choices at each budget.

5G, battery and heat

Early 5G phones had a reputation for draining batteries and running warm. Newer chips have fixed most of that. Budget chips like the Dimensity 6100+ and 6300 and the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, along with mid-range chips like the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, are efficient enough that a 5000mAh phone easily lasts a full day.

If you are in an area with weak 5G signal, the phone may keep searching between 4G and 5G, which uses more power. Most phones let you choose a 4G-preferred mode in network settings to save battery until coverage improves. That flexibility is one more reason a 5G phone is a low-risk buy today: you can use it exactly like a 4G phone now and switch later.
