Non PTA vs PTA vs JV iPhones
Pakistani buyers usually compare three kinds of iPhone: - PTA approved: registered, tax paid, SIM works permanently. Most expensive. - Non PTA: an unregistered international unit. Same phone, lower price, but a local SIM works only for a limited time unless you register the phone and pay the PTA tax. - JV: a carrier-locked unit, often from Japan or the US, that was made for one network. These carry extra limits on top of the PTA issue.

Physical SIM or eSIM: check the variant
iPhones sold in different countries use different SIM setups. Some international units have a nano-SIM tray plus eSIM. US units from the iPhone 14 onwards are eSIM only, and several iPhone 17 models are eSIM only in more countries. Pakistani networks support eSIM, but the DIRBS rule applies in the same way to both.

Which iPhone gives the best value?

The iPhone 16 and 17 series are Non Custom box pack. The iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 series are used Non PTA units with the battery health listed on each model page. Orders need a 50% advance, and the remaining 50% is paid to the courier on delivery. There is no cash on delivery and no installment plan. Delivery takes 48–72 hours after the advance, anywhere in Pakistan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will iCloud, App Store and iMessage work on a Non PTA iPhone?
Yes. All Apple services work over Wi-Fi or mobile data in the normal way. PTA status only affects whether a Pakistani SIM keeps working on the phone's cellular network.
Can I pay PTA tax on a Non PTA iPhone later?
Yes. You can register it through DIRBS and pay the applicable tax. iPhone tax amounts are among the highest because they are based on the phone's value, and they differ between CNIC and passport registration. Always check the current figure first.
Is a Non PTA iPhone the same as a JV iPhone?
