Honor's Play (Honor Play phones) line is its budget series for China, and the Play 40 Plus focuses on battery life and 5G at a very low cost. Old listings mention a Dimensity 6020 and a 5200mAh battery, but the Play 40 Plus actually uses the Dimensity 700 and a bigger 6000mAh cell. Because it is a China-market model, it runs the China version of Honor's software; ask us about the setup if you need Google apps.
The Dimensity 700 is a 7 nm 5G chip with two Cortex-A76 cores. It handles calls, messaging, social media and video smoothly, and copes with light games. It is not meant for heavy gaming.
The 6.74-inch HD+ LCD runs at 90Hz. It is big and smooth, though resolution is basic, so text looks softer than on Full HD+ phones.
The 6000mAh battery is the star: light users can expect about two days per charge, which is great during load-shedding. Charging is 22.5W, so a full charge takes around two hours.
The 50MP main camera takes fair daylight photos, with a 2MP depth helper, and the 5MP front camera covers video calls.
This is a Non PTA imported unit in box pack. Wi-Fi and every feature work; a local SIM works only for a limited time unless you register the phone with PTA and pay the tax. For globally sold alternatives, look at big battery mobiles (Big Battery Mobiles) or Honor mobiles (Honor prices).
