OnePlus made the 9R for buyers who care most about performance and smoothness. It shares much of its body and camera setup with the OnePlus 8T but swaps in the Snapdragon 870 and an improved touch response for games. It sits in the OnePlus Number Series (OnePlus Number Series phones) as a value performance pick.
The Snapdragon 870 is a 7 nm chip with a prime core reaching 3.2 GHz. It runs PUBG, Call of Duty and other heavy titles smoothly at high settings and stays cooler than the Snapdragon 888 in the OnePlus 9. This phone is PTA Patch Approved, so a local SIM works.
The 6.55-inch flat Fluid AMOLED runs at 120Hz with good brightness. Flat screens are easier to protect and better for gaming grips.
The camera setup is a 48MP main camera with OIS, a 16MP ultra-wide, a 5MP macro and a 2MP mono sensor. It does not have Hasselblad tuning, but daylight and 4K 60fps video are reliable.
The 4500mAh battery charges at 65W, reaching full in under 40 minutes. The 9R was originally sold in India and China, and our units are the international-style variant with OxygenOS.
We sell it as a PTA Patch Approved box pack phone. See gaming phones (Gaming Phones) or the guide our PTA guide (How to Check PTA Status of Any Mobile Phone).
