iPhone Duo vs Galaxy Z Fold 7
iPhone Duo vs Galaxy Z Fold 7, short answer: the iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Samsung's seventh. The Duo has the faster A20 Pro chip, a titanium frame, full IP68 and iOS, but a smaller 7.6 inch inner screen, no telephoto lens and eSIM only. The Z Fold 7 has a bigger 8 inch inner screen, a 200MP camera with 3x zoom, a physical SIM slot and is lighter. Pick by ecosystem first: iPhone users will be happier with the Duo, Android users with the Fold.

Design and build
Both are book-style foldables. Closed, the iPhone Duo is short and wide with a 5.4 inch cover screen, while the Z Fold 7 is tall and narrow with a 6.5 inch cover screen that feels like a normal phone. The Duo uses a titanium frame and hinge cover and weighs about 254 g; the Z Fold 7 has an aluminium frame and weighs about 215 g.
Water and dust: the Duo is IP68 rated, while the Z Fold 7 is IP48, so the iPhone handles dust better.
Displays
The Duo's inner screen is 7.6 inches, the Z Fold 7's is 8 inches. Both run at up to 120Hz. Samsung's bigger inner screen is better for split-screen work and video; Apple's is easier to hold. The crease is visible on both at an angle, which is normal for every foldable.
Performance and software
The Duo runs the 2nm A20 Pro, the Z Fold 7 the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. Both are very fast; the A20 Pro is newer and more efficient. Samsung's One UI has years of foldable features such as a taskbar and three-app split screen. iOS on the Duo is new to foldables, so some apps will still adapt over time.
Cameras
The Duo has two 48MP rear cameras (main and ultra-wide) with a 2x crop, and no telephoto lens. The Z Fold 7 has a 200MP main, 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP 3x telephoto, so it wins on zoom. Apple's video quality remains the best in the business.
Battery and charging
The Duo's battery is about 4,883 mAh and the Z Fold 7's about 4,400 mAh. The Duo charges faster with a 60W or higher adapter (50% in about 20 minutes) against 25W on the Fold. Both support wireless charging.
SIM, PTA and our stock in Pakistan
The iPhone Duo is dual eSIM only, with no SIM tray. It is a 100% genuine Non PTA (factory unlocked) box pack unit: a local eSIM works for a limited time, after which you register the phone and pay the PTA tax. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a nano-SIM plus eSIM, and like all our Android phones it is a PTA Patch Approved box pack unit. Read our PTA tax guide (PTA Tax on Mobile Phones: How It Is Calculated and Paid) for how registration works.
