How to Buy a Mobile Online Safely in Pakistan
Ordering a phone online in Pakistan is safe when the seller has a real track record, describes each phone honestly (Non PTA, PTA approved, box pack or used), gives a written checking warranty and ships through a tracked courier. Most online mobile fraud happens with unknown Facebook pages and OLX sellers who ask for full payment upfront or rush you. A few checks before you pay protect your money.

Is it safe to order a phone online?
Yes, if you choose the seller carefully. Thousands of people in Pakistan buy phones online every day, especially in cities with no big mobile market nearby. The risk is not online buying itself but who you buy from.
A trustworthy store makes it easy to check them before you pay. A fraudster makes it hard and creates pressure: 'only one piece left', 'price valid for one hour', 'send advance now to book'. If a deal feels rushed, slow down.
People often search whether a particular store is 'trusted or not' before ordering. That is a good habit. Search the store's name with words like 'review' or 'fraud', ask friends who have ordered, and call the number before you pay. A real business answers questions about warranty, delivery time and PTA status without dodging.
Which online site is best for buying a mobile in Pakistan?
Instead of trusting a name, check these points on any site or page: - Clear product details: model, storage, Non PTA or PTA approved, slightly used or used, and battery health for used iPhones - Real contact details: a phone number and WhatsApp that answer, plus an address or business details - A written warranty and return policy you can read before ordering - A history: an older website or page, real reviews over months, not only new five-star comments - Tracked delivery through a known courier - Prices close to the market. A flagship far below the normal rate is a red flag
Mobile kaha se lena chahiye? From a seller who passes all of these, online or in a market. Our where to buy a Non PTA mobile guide (Where to Buy a Non PTA Mobile in Pakistan) compares the options.
Common online mobile scams in Pakistan
These are the mobile frauds in Pakistan that buyers report most often: - Advance-only Facebook pages: a new page with low prices asks for full payment or a 'booking fee', then blocks you - Fake bank screenshots: when you sell a phone, the 'buyer' sends an edited payment screenshot and asks you to hand over the phone before the money arrives - Swapped parcel: a box arrives with a dummy, soap or an old phone inside - Clone iPhones: a cheap Android made to look like an iPhone, sold as 'master copy' or even as original - JV or patched phones sold as Non PTA, which can be blocked later - Fake courier or 'customs' calls asking for extra fees to release your parcel
None of these is new, but they keep catching people because the prices look attractive.
OLX mobile fraud: how to stay safe
OLX scams in Pakistan usually follow a pattern. Protect yourself: - Never pay an advance to an OLX seller you have not met. Real sellers let you see the phone first - Do not accept payment screenshots as proof. Check your own bank app before handing over a phone - Meet in a public place, preferably inside a market or a busy shop, in daylight - Dial *#06#, send the IMEI to 8484 and run the e-Gadget check in Punjab - Make sure the phone is signed out of iCloud or Google and reset in front of you - Be careful with buyers who 'send a rider' or ask you to click a payment link

What to check when the parcel arrives
When the courier arrives: - Check the parcel is sealed and not damaged before you sign - Record a video while opening the box, from the sealed parcel to the phone switched on - Match the IMEI on the box with *#06# and Settings - Check that the model, storage and colour match your order - For a used iPhone, check battery health and Settings > General > About > Parts and Service History
An opening video is the strongest proof if anything is wrong. Report problems to the seller the same day.
Online mobile fraud complaint: where to report
If you are scammed: - Contact your bank or wallet at once and report the transaction. Fast reporting sometimes allows the money to be held - File a cybercrime complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) through its online complaint portal or helpline. Check the official site for the current number, as these have changed in recent years - Report the scammer's mobile number to PTA through its Complaint Management System (complaint.pta.gov.pk) so it can be blocked - Report the page or profile on Facebook or OLX - If a phone was snatched or stolen, file a police report and request blocking through PTA
Keep chats, payment receipts, the seller's number and screenshots of the ad. Without evidence, a complaint is hard to follow up.
