PTA Helpline Number, DIRBS Complaint and Mobile Registration Offices
PTA's toll-free consumer helpline is 0800-55055, and it handles DIRBS and mobile registration questions along with other telecom complaints. For a written complaint, such as a blocked phone, a wrong IMEI or one SIM slot not registered, use PTA's Complaint Management System at complaint.pta.gov.pk or the PTA CMS app. Phone registration itself is done on dirbs.pta.gov.pk, with *8484#, or at mobile operator franchises and customer service centres across Pakistan.

PTA helpline number
PTA's Consumer Support Centre runs on the toll-free number 0800-55055. According to PTA's announcement, it works seven days a week during daytime hours, and it takes complaints about DIRBS, mobile operators, internet providers and other telecom services. Timings can change, so check PTA's website (pta.gov.pk) if the line does not answer.
Useful related numbers: - 8484: SMS a 15-digit IMEI to check a phone's PTA status, or dial *8484# to start registration - 0800-55055: questions and complaints about DIRBS, registration and blocking
Before you call, keep ready your CNIC, all IMEIs from *#06#, your DIRBS tracking ID or PSID, and any payment receipt. The call goes much faster that way.
Is there a PTA helpline number on WhatsApp?
Many people search for a PTA helpline number on WhatsApp. PTA's official DIRBS channels are the DIRBS website, the 8484 SMS service, the DVS app, the CMS portal and app, and the toll-free helpline. PTA has warned the public about fake messages and links claiming to be from DIRBS, including some shared on WhatsApp.
So be careful: - Do not pay 'PTA registration' or 'unblocking' fees to a WhatsApp number - PTA tax is only paid against an official PSID, at a bank, bank app or wallet - Never share OTPs or CNIC photos with an unknown number claiming to be PTA
If you get such a message, report the number through PTA's complaint system.
PTA helpline number in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad
There is no separate PTA helpline for each city. The toll-free 0800-55055 number and the online CMS portal serve the whole country, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad.
PTA's headquarters is in Islamabad, and PTA also has zonal offices in major cities. For most DIRBS issues you do not need to visit any office. Complaints are handled online, and registration can be done from home or at an operator franchise near you.
PTA office for mobile registration: where to go in person
You do not need to visit a PTA office to register a phone. The DIRBS FAQs say mobile registration is available: - Online on the DIRBS Device Registration System (dirbs.pta.gov.pk) - Through *8484# from a SIM registered in your name - At mobile operator franchises and customer service centres nationwide (Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone)
The DIRBS site also lists operator facilitation centres. Going to a franchise helps if you are not comfortable with the website or if you want staff to type the IMEIs for you. Take your CNIC or passport and the phone. Our how to register a mobile with PTA guide (How to Register Your Mobile with PTA (DIRBS Guide)) explains each step, and how to pay PTA tax online (How to Pay PTA Tax Online with Your PSID) covers the PSID payment.
How to file a DIRBS complaint on the CMS portal
For a DIRBS complaint: - Open complaint.pta.gov.pk or the PTA CMS app (Android and iPhone) - Register with your name, CNIC, email and mobile number - Choose the right category, for example DIRBS, Stolen Mobile Handset / IMEI Related Complaint, or One Slot Compliant / One Non-compliant - Enter the IMEIs, your tracking ID or PSID, and explain the problem clearly - Attach proof: payment receipt, box photo with IMEI, purchase receipt or FIR where relevant - Note the complaint number and follow up through the portal
PTA says One Slot complaints are resolved within 7 working days, and you can send a reminder through the portal if there is no reply.
PTA mobile block complaint online: common cases
These are the cases people most often take to PTA: - Paid PTA tax but the phone still shows blocked: check with your bank that the payment reached FBR, then complain with the receipt. See PTA blocked phone unblock (PTA Blocked Phone: How to Check and Unblock It Legally) - One SIM slot works, the other does not: use the One Slot category. See dual SIM and second IMEI registration (Dual SIM PTA Registration: One SIM Approved, the Other Not) - Wrong IMEI entered in an approved application: complain so PTA can verify and correct it - 'IMEI already exists' error: check 8484 and delete pending applications in your DRS account first - Stolen or snatched phone: request blocking through the stolen handset category after a police report, see check if a phone is stolen (How to Check if a Phone Is Stolen in Pakistan)
PTA cannot register phones with invalid or tampered IMEIs, so a complaint will not help a patched or cloned phone. If you bought such a phone as 'PTA approved', keep the receipt and take it up with the seller, and inform the police if you were cheated.
Tips for a faster resolution
A few habits make PTA complaints move faster: - File one complaint per problem, not several for the same IMEI - Use the exact category that matches your issue - Write all IMEIs clearly and attach clear photos - Keep your PSID receipt and DIRBS tracking ID safe - Reply quickly if PTA asks for more documents
Our phones are factory unlocked with original IMEIs. Android stock is Non Custom box pack and iPhones are Non PTA, so they can be registered through DIRBS in the normal way, and every order has a 7-day checking warranty. See Non PTA mobiles (Imported Mobiles).
