Despite the shared name, the Galaxy A22 5G is a very different phone from the 4G Galaxy A22. Instead of an AMOLED panel and OIS camera, it focuses on 5G connectivity and a large Full HD+ 90Hz screen. It is part of the Galaxy A series (Samsung Galaxy A phones).
The 6.6 inch LCD is sharp and smooth, a good fit for reading, browsing and YouTube. Being LCD, blacks look greyish compared with AMOLED, but text clarity is better than on the HD+ AMOLED of the 4G A22.
The Dimensity 700 is a 7 nm 5G chip with Cortex-A76 cores, comfortably faster than the Helio G80. With up to 8GB RAM, multitasking is smooth, and games like PUBG Mobile run at balanced settings.
The triple camera has a 48MP main, a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor. There is no OIS, so night shots need a steady hand. The 8MP front camera is basic but fine for video calls.
The 5000 mAh battery with an efficient 7 nm chip delivers long battery life, and charging is 15W through USB-C. A side fingerprint sensor, a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm jack are included. As a 2021 model, its upgrade cycle has ended.
Our stock is Non PTA, box pack international variants. Without PTA registration a local SIM works only for a limited period; Wi-Fi works normally. 5G use depends on network availability, and it works on 4G anywhere. Box contents depend on the region. Compare it with the 4G Galaxy A22 (Samsung Galaxy A22), or browse mobiles under 30000 (Under 30k).
