The X9 5G was one of the first Honor phones to bring 5G and 66W SuperCharge to a mid-range price after the brand split from Huawei. Its strengths are a big, fast screen and quick charging, which make it a sensible pick in the Honor X Series (Honor X Series phones) for video lovers and casual gamers.
The 6.81-inch Full HD+ LCD refreshes at 120Hz. It is tall and immersive for YouTube, Netflix and dramas, and scrolling feels very smooth. Being an LCD, contrast is weaker than AMOLED, but the size and smoothness make up for it.
The Snapdragon 695 is a 6 nm 5G chip with two Cortex-A78 cores. It is quicker than the Snapdragon 680 used in cheaper X models, and runs PUBG and Call of Duty at medium settings comfortably.
The camera setup is simple: a 48MP main camera with 2MP depth and 2MP macro helpers. Expect good daylight photos and basic low-light results. The 16MP selfie camera is decent.
The 4800mAh battery lasts a full day, and 66W charging is the real treat, filling most of the battery in about half an hour. A side fingerprint key and 3.5 mm jack round it out.
Our unit is the Non PTA international variant in box pack. All features and Wi-Fi work; a local SIM works for a limited time unless you register the phone with PTA and pay the tax. Compare more options on 5G mobiles (5G Mobiles) and 120Hz mobiles (120Hz Mobiles).
