The Y22 brought Vivo's newer flat-frame look to the budget segment. Its squared-off sides and shiny back panel make it look more modern than older rounded Y models, and it is a solid pick for students and everyday users.
The Helio G85 is a well-known budget gaming chip. It is a small step above the Helio G80 and runs PUBG Mobile and Free Fire smoothly at low to medium settings. Daily apps such as WhatsApp, TikTok and YouTube run without trouble, and Funtouch OS 12 allows extended RAM.
The camera setup is simple: a 50MP main camera plus a 2MP macro (not three cameras, as some lists say). The main sensor produces clear photos in daylight with good colour, and night mode helps indoors. On the front there is an 8MP selfie camera inside a waterdrop notch.
The 6.55-inch HD+ display is big and bright enough for indoor use. The 5000mAh battery lasts a full day for most people, and the phone charges over USB-C at 18W, which is quicker than many rivals at this level.
This phone is PTA Patch Approved, so a local SIM works. Browse the Vivo Y series (Vivo Y Series phones), Vivo mobiles (Vivo prices), or mobiles for students (Mobiles for Students).
