The Redmi 9C is the step-up option from the Redmi 9A, and the differences are practical. It has a rear fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking, which the 9A lacks, and a faster MediaTek Helio G35 chip. With up to 4GB RAM on higher variants, it handles WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and online classes more smoothly than the 9A.
The camera setup moves to three lenses: a 13MP main sensor, a 2MP macro for close-ups and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. In daylight the main camera produces clean, shareable photos. The 5MP front camera is basic but fine for video calls.
The 6.53-inch HD+ display is the same size as the 9A, with a waterdrop notch. Battery life is excellent thanks to the 5000mAh cell, which easily lasts a full day of mixed use. Charging is 10W over micro-USB, so a full charge takes a few hours. The textured plastic back hides fingerprints and survives daily knocks well, and the phone weighs about 196 grams.
Keep in mind that the 9C launched in 2020 with Android 10 and MIUI 12 and has reached the end of major updates. It is a value pick for basic use rather than a long-term investment.
This is a PTA Patch Approved, imported box pack. This phone is PTA Patch Approved, so a local SIM works. Read our PTA status guide (How to Check PTA Status of Any Mobile Phone), compare the Xiaomi Redmi series (Redmi phones), or browse all Xiaomi mobiles (Xiaomi prices).
