The itel S23 is for young buyers who want a phone that looks more expensive than it is, with a good main camera and plenty of storage. It started itel's style-focused S Series (itel prices), which puts design and cameras first.
The 6.6-inch IPS LCD has HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, so scrolling is smoother than on basic phones. The flat-edged body is 8 mm thick and weighs 195 g. Inside is the Unisoc T606, a 12 nm octa-core chip with two Cortex-A75 cores, available with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. A dedicated microSD slot adds more space. Daily apps run smoothly, and casual games and PUBG Mobile on low settings are playable.
The 50MP main camera has a bright f/1.6 lens with autofocus and an LED flash. Daylight photos are detailed for this level, and video records at 1080p. The 8MP front camera covers selfies and video calls. The 5000mAh battery lasts a full day of normal use. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack complete the package.
Our unit is the PTA Patch Approved international variant, box packed. This phone is PTA Patch Approved, so a local SIM works. If you want an AMOLED screen and a 32MP selfie camera, look at the itel S23+ (itel S23+). Otherwise browse more mobiles for students (Mobiles for Students) or read our PTA guide (How to Check PTA Status of Any Mobile Phone).
